Jan Galt is a true Marietta Native. Jan is a graduate of Marietta High School as did both of her parents and one grandfather. After graduating from LaGrange College in 1983, Jan went to work in her family’s business, Lindsey-Galt Furniture. When the business closed in July of 2001, Jan found a new career at the Marietta Museum of History. Upon joining the Museum staff she was primarily responsible for the bookkeeping and the gift shop. She is now the Director of Operations and Chief Financial Officer of the Museum. Jan is proud of the growth that the Museum and its staff have achieved over the past several years. Visitation has increased to over 14,000 people per year, and there are over 35,000 pieces in the collection, which is worth over $6.5 million.
Jan’s favorite saying about the Museum is that it is “a place where everything is old and there is always something new.”
