This Week's Speaker
Joe Seconder, Retired US Army Reserve Major

Join us this Friday to welcome Joe Seconder, a retired US Army Reserve Major (Infantry) with 23 years of service, both volunteering for Operation Desert Storm and serving a year with his unit deployed to Kuwait and Iraq during the 2003 invasion. You can join us for this Veteran's Day presentation live at LeMeridien Hotel or via Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89796844807

Today, Joe is a Senior Manager with Accenture Federal Services, with over 27 years’ experience specializing in Human Capital Management solutions and services delivery within both private and public sector markets in the USA and internationally.

He moved from Michigan to Metro Atlanta in 1984, took an overseas assignment in Europe for several years, returning and moving to Dunwoody in 2008 where he resides with his wife, Kathleen.

Joe has been an active volunteer and leader in the community, serving on the board of the Dunwoody Homeowners Association as well as on two of the city’s committees. He founded Bike Walk Dunwoody, which advocates for connected and safe walking and bicycling infrastructure, improving the quality of life of our residents and visitors.

As the past President of the Board of Directors of the statewide non-profit Georgia Bikes, he appreciates the importance of working together as a region, collaborating, and partnering with other civic, private, and public entities

In 2019, Joe was elected to a citywide seat on the Dunwoody City Council, with his current term running through 2024. Where his latest analogy to serving in this part-time public service role is, “It’s sorta like being in an arranged marriage with six other people.”
