The Rotary Club of Atlanta West End (AWER) is honored to have Olympic Gold Medalist, Vietnam veteran and long-time business and civic leader - Dr. Mel Pender - present the program for the Club’s Friday, February 25, 2022 meeting. Dr. Pender will be the keynote for the United States Military Academy's Black History Month Observance on Thursday, February 17, 2022. The event honors his accomplishment as West Point's first Black coach. It marks the first time that his position as a Black history maker for West Point has been closely embraced and acknowledged across the entire institution.
